Along with Bahamas and Costa Rica, Barbados ranks among the top three most telework-ready economies in the Caribbean, with an estimated 15% of its workforce holding jobs performable from home (Delaporte & Peña, 2020). Women, who tend to provide care responsibilities, are more likely to occupy those roles — and are willing to take up to a 10% pay cut to retain remote work (Brindis et al., 2024).
